SoftAlliance 20th Anniversary: Hackathon Rules and Guidelines.
- Eligibility:
– The hackathon is open to all Soft Alliance employees of all backgrounds interested in AI, data analysis, product development, or innovation.
– Participants can register as individuals or as part of a team (Non-Employee can be a part of the team with an Employee).
2. Team Formation:
– Teams must consist of 3-5 participants.
– Participants must form teams before the event or join teams during the team formation period facilitated by the organizers.
3. Project Scope:
– Projects must address one or more of the defined challenge areas:
– Enhance Product Functionality (e.g., intelligent parking solution, AI for vehicle tracking, HR pre-screening chatbot, sentiment analysis for employee surveys, fraud detection for payments, smart budgeting tool).
- AI Agents for Customer Interaction (e.g., multi-product customer service AI).
- Data-driven insights (e.g., cross-product usage and behavior dashboard).
- Projects should be original and developed during the hackathon. Pre-existing projects are not eligible.
4. Code of Conduct:
- All participants must adhere to a code of conduct that promotes respect, collaboration, and inclusivity.
- Harassment, discrimination, and misconduct will not be tolerated. Violators will be removed from the event.
5. Intellectual Property:
- All projects developed during the hackathon remain the intellectual property of the participants.
- Participants are encouraged to share their projects publicly, but it is not mandatory.
6. Judging Criteria:
- Projects will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Innovation: The originality and creativity of the solution.
- Functionality: The practical application and usability of the project.
- Feasibility: The technical viability and potential for real-world implementation.
- Presentation: The clarity and effectiveness of the project presentation.
7. Submission:
Final projects must be submitted by the end of the second day of the hackathon.
Submissions should include:
- A brief description of the project.
- A demonstration of the project (e.g., a video or live demo).
- Source code or documentation, if applicable.
8. Collaboration and Resources:
- Participants are encouraged to collaborate and share knowledge with other teams while respecting each team’s unique contributions.
- Organizers will provide access to necessary resources, including datasets, APIs, and development tools.
9. Mentorship and Support:
- Mentors will be available throughout the hackathon to provide guidance, answer questions, and offer feedback.
- Technical workshops and talks will be conducted to support participants in their project development.
10. Prizes and Recognition:
- Prizes will be awarded to the top projects based on the judging criteria.
- All participants will receive certificates of participation.
- Outstanding projects may be featured in Soft Alliance’s communication channels and considered for further development support.
11. Communication:
- Participants must join the official hackathon communication channels (e.g., Slack, Discord) for updates, announcements, and collaboration.
- Regular check-ins and stand-up meetings will be scheduled to ensure teams stay on track and receive timely support.
12. Health and Safety:
- Participants are expected to adhere to health and safety guidelines provided by the organizers.
- Organizers will ensure that the venue is safe, accessible, and equipped with the necessary facilities.
